Harlem Globetrotters call for NBA All-Stars to repeat STAPLES Center catwalk shot

The Harlem Globetrotters 92nd Anniversary World Tour will be coming to town.

High among the Los Angeles Lakers championship banners and retired jerseys, Harlem Globetrotters star El Gato Melendez made an epic shot from the catwalk of STAPLES Center.  El Gato accomplished the feat as the renowned arena is set to host the NBA All-Star Game this Sunday and the Globetrotters’ tour on Feb. 25.   (courtesy Harlem Globetrotters).

More info:
The Globetrotters are preparing to bring their “Amazing Feats of Basketball World Tour” to the Los Angeles area from Feb. 17-25, highlighted by their game at STAPLES Center on Sunday, Feb. 25 at 2 p.m.  The full LA-area schedule and ticket information are available at http://harlemglobetrotters.com/socal.

When releasing the trick shot video this afternoon, the Globetrotters’ Instagram account stated: “Calling all NBA all-stars! Let’s see someone else knock down this shot at @staplescenterla this weekend!”

As the first and only Puerto Rican-born Globetrotter, El Gato played college basketball for the storied North Carolina Tar Heels and appeared in two Final Fours.  He has also played with the Puerto Rican national team.

I purchased my tickets on Groupon for an added discount on Magic Tickets. I decided to attend the Anaheim show and not the Staples Center. I will let you all know how it was and I hope to see you there.
